I first met Jannine when I visited the studio off Pydar Street one day looking for a picture for one of my son’s Christmas presents. I was immediately attracted to a print of a tree , unusually looking up into the branches from below. To my surprise and pleasure the artist in the studio at the time was Jannine, who had painted the original. We started talking and I told her about the wonderful copper beech in my front garden. She suggested that I commission her to paint it!
The following May, just as the fresh leaves were emerging I visited Jannine again and she came up to my garden and took several photographs. Soon afterwards we sat down together and chose the particular photograph that she would paint from and that was it. Over the next month or two I called regularly to check on progress and remember vividly one sunny day coming across Jannine outside the studio, working on my tree and attracting a lot of favourable comments from passers by. Eventually the large oil painting was completed and it now sits proudly at the top of the stairs and is much admired by visitors to the house. Throughout the process Jannine was a pleasure to deal with and the price was so reasonable compared to any similar picture that you might see in a gallery. I am a very satisfied customer!
